
Amazon Prime Video and Netflix expanded their positions in Austria’s streaming market in the first quarter of 2026, while Disney+ saw a slight decline but remained among the top three services, according to data from JustWatch.
Amazon Prime Video Retains Lead As Netflix Closes Gap
Amazon Prime Video remained the leading streaming platform in Austria, increasing its market share from 23 percent in January to 25 percent in March, with a quarterly average of 24 percent. Netflix strengthened its position in second place, rising from 20 percent to 22 percent over the same period, averaging 21 percent for the quarter. Disney Plus dropped from 23 percent in January to 21 percent in March, with a quarterly average of 22 percent, holding onto third place despite the decline.
Smaller Platforms Post Modest Gains
Apple TV increased slightly from 12 percent to 13 percent, averaging 13 percent across the quarter. Paramount Plus rose from 4 percent to 5 percent, with an average share of 5 percent. Overall, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix recorded the strongest growth in Austria’s streaming market in Q1 2026, while Disney+ remained competitive despite losing ground.
