On Monday, President Alexander Van der Bellen will swear in Austria’s first three-party coalition at the Hofburg. Future Chancellor Christian Stocker (ÖVP), 13 ministers, and seven secretaries of state will be expected at the Presidential Palace at 11:00 AM. Immediately after, the handover of office from outgoing Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg (ÖVP) to Stocker will take place at the Federal Chancellery.

Sworn in by the ÖVP will be Chancellor Christian Stocker, along with ministers Gerhard Karner (Interior), Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer (Economy), Klaudia Tanner (Defense), Norbert Totschnig (Agriculture and Environmental Protection), and Claudia Plakolm (Youth, Family, EU, and Integration). From the SPÖ, Vice Chancellor Andreas Babler (Housing, Arts, Culture, Media, and Sports), Markus Marterbauer (Finance), Anna Sporrer (Justice), Korinna Schumann (Social Affairs and Health), Peter Hanke (Infrastructure and Transport), and Eva-Maria Holzleitner (Women and Science) will serve in the government. The NEOS will have Beate Meinl-Reisinger (Foreign Affairs) and Christoph Wiederkehr (Education). There will also be three secretaries of state from the ÖVP and SPÖ, and one from the NEOS. In addition to the swearing-in and the handover of the chancellery, there will be handovers in individual ministries to the new ministers.

With the approval of the NEOS membership assembly for the coalition, the final hurdle was cleared on Sunday. The boards of both the ÖVP and SPÖ had already approved the government program and ministerial list on Friday.
