Passenger shipping on the Danube will resume this weekend following severe weather and flooding that stopped all services.
Cruise company DDSG Blue Danube has announced it will restart some scheduled services. All City Cruises on the Danube Canal in Vienna, along with the Dinner Cruise aboard the MS Wien, will operate as planned this weekend. Scheduled services in the Wachau Valley will also resume.
The MS Austria will depart from Krems at 10:15 am and from Melk at 1:50 pm. Another round trip from Krems will leave at 3:45 pm. The Wachau Brunch on Sunday is set to go ahead as usual. However, the Dürnstein landing stage remains temporarily unavailable due to flood damage.
A decision regarding the inclusion of further routes and the return to the full programme will be made in the coming days, depending on the water levels of the Danube. Tickets for trips that need to be cancelled due to the current situation will be refunded or can be rebooked free of charge.
