An online election decision tool, Wahlkabine.at, went live on Monday, just over a month before Austria’s parliamentary elections.

Wahlkabine.at aims to assist voters in determining their preferred party by presenting 25 questions, covering topics from unconditional basic income to the WHO pandemic treaty.
The questions have been curated by a team of journalists and scientists, with responses sourced from the parties and verified for accuracy.
Participants can respond with ‘Yes’, ‘No’, or ‘No answer’, and they also have the option to indicate the importance of each topic. The system then compares their answers with those of the parties, resulting in a ranking that reflects the degree of alignment.
Wahlkabine.at was founded by the Institute for New Cultural Technology in 2002.
Non-Austrian citizens who are not eligible to vote in the September elections can still use the online tool to determine where their political preferences lie.
In the run-up to Vienna’s municipal elections in 2020, Wahlkabine.at conducted a special study for those not permitted to vote – one third of the city’s population – called “If No Vote, At Least a Voice.”
