The ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra and its chief conductor, Marin Alsop, have been nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Orchestral Performance category.

The nomination recognises their recording of “John Adams: City Noir, Fearful Symmetries & Lola Montez Does the Spider Dance.” Released in April, the album features live recordings from concerts at the Vienna Musikverein alongside sessions at the ORF RadioKulturhaus.

ORF Radio Director Ingrid Thurnher said, “I warmly congratulate our orchestra on this Grammy nomination. It highlights the high musical quality of the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra and its international popularity. This recognition brings me great joy, and I wish them the best of luck for the awards!”

American conductor Marin Alsop is regarded as one of the world’s leading figures in classical music.

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will take place on 2 February 2025.
