A 32-year-old man shot at several teenagers from a building in Innsbruck-Reichenau with a blank-firing pistol in the night into Sunday. Police were alerted by emergency call at around 9:10 p.m., reporting that someone in the Reichenau district was firing a blank-firing weapon from a building.

Arriving patrols quickly tracked down the suspect in an apartment. In the course of the search, officers uncovered an indoor cannabis plantation, ketamine and additional cannabis.

They also discovered several prohibited weapons and unspecified “dangerous objects.” The man was arrested on the spot and taken to the police detention center. A governmental weapons ban was already in effect against him. He is now being charged before the Innsbruck public prosecutor’s office. The police initially declined to comment on his motive.
