The popular Austrian Reparaturbonus is set to return by the end of the year, according to the Climate Ministry. The program, which has been paused since May due to high demand, is currently under evaluation. For 2026, €30 million has been earmarked annually in the budget for its continuation.

Since its launch in 2022, more than €130 million from the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility and federal funds have been used. Over 1.7 million vouchers have already been redeemed for repairs and servicing of electronic devices and bicycles. Commonly repaired items include smartphones, dishwashers, washing machines, and coffee machines—serviced by about 6,000 partner businesses across Austria.

Manfred Denk of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber welcomed the announcement, calling the bonus a “win for consumers and businesses alike.” He emphasized that repair work is a key skill of local tradespeople and that the bonus supports a circular economy and smarter resource use.
