A teacher at a school in Burgenland is alleged to have had students build a swastika out of bricks during class. Based on his sketch, the teenagers were reportedly instructed to construct the banned Nazi symbol stone by stone as an assignment. The police confirmed on Thursday, following a report in the “Kronen Zeitung,” that an investigation is underway. The regional education authority is examining possible disciplinary consequences under civil service law.

According to the “Kronen Zeitung,” the incident is believed to have spread quickly by word of mouth and also reached the principal. He informed the education authority and, after consulting with them, filed a report with the police.
