Hotel Sacher is the only hotel from the German-speaking world to appear on the list, published for the third time by William Reed. The selection was made by 800 industry experts, including hoteliers, travel journalists, and university lecturers.
150th anniversary next year
“As the only hotel in the German-speaking world, this award is a great honor,” said Vienna Sacher Hotel Director Andreas Keese. The luxury hotel, with 152 rooms and suites located across from the State Opera, will celebrate its 150th anniversary next year.
The jury highlighted the perfect blend of tradition, luxury, cultural significance, and “legendary Austrian hospitality.” The awards were presented on October 30 in London. The top spots went primarily to luxury hotels in Asia, with the Rosewood Hotel in Hong Kong named the overall winner.
