Anyone wishing to attend a live Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) show at the Wiener Stadthalle must register within the next three weeks. Pre-registration opened today, Monday, and according to ORF it is necessary to ensure ticket sales without resellers or bots. Until December 18, Song Contest fans must register at www.eurovision.com or www.oeticket.com. On Monday morning, waiting times of partly 15 minutes or more were reported.

The first wave of tickets will go on sale on January 13, ORF announced at the start of registration on Monday. January 13 is one day after the semifinal draw. This means ESC fans will then know in which semifinal on May 12 or May 14 their favorite country will perform, which may influence their ticket selection for the shows. A maximum of four tickets may be purchased per registration—based on the rule “first come, first served.”

Ticket range between 15 and 360 euros
However, not only tickets for the two semifinals and the final will be available. Each will also offer an “Evening Preview Show,” essentially a dress rehearsal, and an “Afternoon Preview Show” for early birds. The range of ticket prices is accordingly wide. The cheapest ticket for the afternoon shows starts at 15 euros, while the most expensive final ticket for the Golden Circle area in front of the stage costs 360 euros.

The benchmark for ORF comes from 2015. At that time, after Conchita’s victory in Copenhagen, 100,000 spectators attended the nine ESC shows in Vienna.
