A water pipe burst near Quellenplatz in Vienna-Favoriten caused significant disruptions to traffic and the water supply early on Wednesday morning. According to Katja Dämmrich, spokesperson for Wiener Wasser, seven houses on Laxenburgerstraße, from Quellenplatz to Davidgasse, were affected on Wednesday morning. The residents were supplied with water through water tankers.
The repairs are expected to last until Thursday morning at the latest. The issue was caused by a failure in a 30-centimeter diameter supply pipe.
Tram Service Resumed After Disruptions:
The cleanup work affected individual traffic, with the police assisting with roadblocks and detours. Public transport was also impacted until noon. According to Wiener Linien, the disruption was resolved by midday, and all affected tram lines resumed service. Tram lines 11, 6, O, and the replacement line E1, which was established due to U1 construction work, were particularly affected.
