A 52-year-old Slovak national is the prime suspect in a break-in at a garden allotment house in the 21st district of Vienna, Floridsdorf, during which a 91-year-old woman was killed.
Investigations from the start, following the discovery of the body on September 4, pointed to foul play. An autopsy revealed the suspect sexually assaulted the woman before killing her with a blunt object.
DNA evidence led to the identification of the Slovak national as the suspect. Police describe him as around 160 cm tall, with a shaved head, stocky build, and speaking Slovak, Hungarian, and broken German.
He has tattoos on his left hand and forearm, including dots on the back of his left hand, a flower on his left forearm, and a plant motif on his right arm. The Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office has released a photograph of the suspect. Any information will be treated confidentially, or anonymously if preferred, and can be reported to the Vienna State Criminal Office on 01-31310-33800.
A €5,000 reward has been offered by the Friends of the Vienna Police Association for information leading to his arrest.
