The Austrian Post achieved a record last year by transporting 508 million parcels domestically and internationally. In Austria alone, the partially state-owned company reported a volume growth of 12 percent, reaching 224 million parcels, according to a statement released on Thursday. For comparison, 200 million parcels were transported in Austria by Austrian Post in 2023.
On an average day in 2024, the company handled around 800,000 parcels across Austria. In December, this number rose to over one million parcels per day, with the peak daily volume of over 1.56 million parcels recorded in early December.
The total volume of parcels sent domestically and internationally represented a 7 percent increase compared to the previous year. The logistics company serves 150 million recipients across 11 countries, including Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Turkey, and its home market of Austria.
