Austro-Canadian billionaire and former Austrian politician Frank Stronach is scheduled to appear in an Ontario court on Monday to face sexual assault charges, as reported by CBC News.
Stronach, 91, set up Team Stronach in Austria in 2013.
The party, which advocated for policies such as an “Austrian euro” and a 25% flat tax, held seats in the Austrian parliament for four years before its dissolution in August 2017.
Born in Austria to a working-class family, Stronach amassed his fortune in Canada through Magna International, a global car parts firm which he established in 1957.
Stronach is accused of 13 counts of sexual assault involving at least 10 victims spanning from 1977 to the present year.
