Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp will become the global head of football at Austrian energy drinks and sports giant Red Bull from January 2025, the BBC reported on Wednesday.

“After almost 25 years on the sideline, I could not be more excited to get involved in a project like this,” the 57-year-old German was quoted as saying. “The role may have changed, but my passion for football and the people who make the game what it is has not.”

Red Bull owns RB Leipzig in Germany, Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg, Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls in the US, and Brazilian club Red Bull Bragantino.

In his new position, Klopp will advise Red Bull’s teams on their playing philosophy, transfer strategy, and coaching development, the BBC said.

Klopp won eight trophies with Liverpool between 2015 and 2024, including the Premier League and Champions League. He previously managed Borussia Dortmund and Mainz in Germany.

In addition to football, Red Bull is involved in ice hockey and motorsports, owning two Formula 1 teams.
