
An unknown armed man robbed a bank in Kufstein, Tyrol, on Thursday morning. The masked man threatened several employees with a pistol and demanded cash in English. He then fled on foot towards the east, and a search proved unsuccessful. By late afternoon, the bank robber had not been apprehended. At the time of the robbery, there were no customers in the bank, and no one was injured, according to the police statement to APA.
The robber managed to steal an unknown amount of cash. The police are now searching for a man between 1.70 and 1.80 meters tall with a slim build, wearing light jeans and a light hoodie with white lettering. He also wore a dark mask and black gloves. The authorities have asked the public for any information in a press release.
Tyrol has seen a noticeable increase in bank robberies over the past year. Nine banks have been robbed since November 2023, with the series starting in Kufstein. In the fortress city, banks were robbed in November and January.
