A silent march for the victims of the Graz shooting will kick off Vienna’s 29th Rainbow Parade on Saturday. “So much is different this year. The horrific events in Graz have deeply shaken us,” the organizers said. After this opening, however, the demonstration will proceed as usual—colorful and loud.

The parade, which is expected to draw up to 300,000 participants, starts at 12:00 PM at Rathausplatz. The route runs against traffic around the Ring back to the starting point, where the Pride Celebration begins at 6:00 PM. In addition to speeches by Vice Mayor Bettina Emmerling (NEOS), performances by Conchita Wurst, JJ, and Melanie C of the Spice Girls are on the program.

According to the ÖAMTC, motorists should expect Ring road closures lasting hours and corresponding delays due to the Rainbow Parade. The event will be streamed live from 12:00 PM by Joyn and broadcast on Puls 24; ORF will stream the demonstration on ORF ON.
