Cyber Fraudsters Arrested in Vienna, 200 TB of Data Seized

More than 50 servers were seized, and 200 terabytes of digital evidence were secured, Europol reported on Thursday.

Prosecutors allege that Benko is a central figure in a suspected criminal network linked to real estate developments in northern Italy.

Thirty-two individuals have been arrested, and assets seized, but the scheme’s financial impact in Austria is still under investigation.

The suspect, a 60-year-old Syrian national, is said to be a relative of one of the car owners and has been taken into custody.

The search was carried out by the elite Cobra task force, supported by drones and police dogs, after officers spotted the suspect.

The report, Femicides in 2023, indicates that 60% of the killings were carried out by intimate partners or other family members.
